The ever-changing, hyper-connected communications world is an exciting, fast paced environment, but it can leave individuals feeling pressured. Brazen’s ‘Year of Wellbeing’ aims to make positive strides for its team and the community in the areas of mental health and wellness.
The seminar with Mindful ME is the first of the year, and it will give attendees mindfulness tips and techniques to restore some calm in today’s hectic and time-pressured lifestyle. Kirsty Heaton, a mindfulness expert and teacher who grew up in Dubai and has worked across the region will lead the seminar.
Louise Jacobson, managing partner, Brazen PR, says, “As communications professionals in the UAE we work in one of the most exciting industries in the world, but the increased connectivity that comes with our profession can present challenges. These challenges aren’t going anywhere, so I want to introduce techniques and strategies to ensure we cope with these pressures which will enable us to feel great, be great and do great. We’re excited to work with Mindful ME and Kirsty to talk about mindfulness can make a huge, positive impact and help personally and professionally and I’m looking forward to inviting the communications community to be a part of this.”
Kirsty Heaton, mindfulness teacher at Mindful ME comments: “Mindfulness has increased in popularity over the past few years and rightly so. According to recent statistics, several Fortune 500 organizations including Google, Apple and Nike all use mindfulness meditation as a staple for their employees to manage stress in the workplace and in their daily lives.
“Mindfulness is a way of paying attention with purposeful awareness in the present moment without judgment. The benefits of mindfulness are numerous, from reducing stress levels, improved sleep and better communication skills, to becoming a better listener, reducing anxiety and an overall increase in happiness and wellbeing.”
