Liquid Thread, media agency Starcom MediaVest Group’s branded content arm, is sponsoring the “Scriptwriting for Brand Content” contest at this year’s MENA Cristal festival, which takes place on February 6 at Lebanon’s Mzaar Kfaerdebian resort.
In order to cultivate and encourage the creation of more Arabic content in the region, Liquid Thread and Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) introduced the Scriptwriting for Brand Content Contest as a new category at the 2014 MENA Cristal Festival. To nurture a culture in which writers are inspired to compose compelling, original content, SMG partnered with Endemol and Yahoo!, as well as the group’s client, Samsung, to ensure that entries into the competition are shared with, and reviewed by the region’s best qualified experts.
To enter, all writers had to do was submit a script for six webisodes, based on a brief for Samsung. A judging panel, comprising experts from Liquid Thread, SMG and co-sponsors Yahoo!, Endemol and Samsung, will select a winner based on the quality of the script, its storytelling prowess and brand discernibility. The winning entry will be announced during the MENA Cristal Festival.
