Save the date: OMD MENA Predicts 2014 (and beyond)

On November 10, Omnicom Media Group’s OMD MENA is holding the 2014 and sixth edition of its OMD Predicts series of talks, this time under the theme: Propeller – Harnessing the Forces that Drive Marketing Forward, at Palm Jumeirah’s Music Hall in Dubai.

Tackling the transformation of brand communications and marketing under the influence of digital technologies, the day-long conference will discuss the confluence of innovation, content and technology, providing intelligence, analysis and recommendations for marketing and media professionals. It is expected to gather more than 250 delegates.

Featured speakers include Guy Hearn, chief innovation officer, Asia Pacific for Omnicom Media Group – who also heads up What’s Next, OMG’s innovations lab – will discuss how showcasing media creativity in brands’ communications will separate the leaders from the followers ; Shawn Amos, founder and CEO of digital content studio Freshwire, will focus on how brand storytelling and content marketing is evolving to add value to both brands and consumers, particularly in the context of evolving and emerging technologies; and Thimon De Jong, founder of Whetston /Strategic Foresight, a think tank on socio-economic and cultural changes that are relevant for strategic decision making. De Jong will explore the three most significant technological shifts that will alter not only brand communications, but, also, business models.

“As media habits change and advertising evolves, notably through the development of digital technologies, the communications industry is breaking away from past thinking and techniques, adopting radical new thinking instead to enhance its effectiveness further. Content and technology, as well as innovation, are three trends that are profoundly altering the way brands communicate with consumers,” says a statement by OMD MENA.

“Planning for the future is never an easy task, but with OMD Predicts, we are aiming to establish a solid foundation from which one can start,” adds in the statement Nadim Samara, managing director of OMD UAE and Lower Gulf. “Thanks to the knowledge and vision shared by this year’s speakers, future-proofing communication strategies will become a lot more achievable and fruitful. Rather than anxiety, this knowledge will allow us all to look to the future with agility, anticipation, excitement and confidence.”

OMD Predicts is produced in partnership with regional media rep group Choueiri Group and media group Mediaquest.
