Media agency MEC announces the promotion of Wassim Hmaidan from GM of Egypt to managing director for Egypt and Lebanon. A three-year veteran at MEC, Hmaidan has been key to the establishment of the Cairo office. Formerly, he managed the transition of Vodafone to the agency, actively pushing MEC’s business forward in the realms of digital and data. As managing director of both offices, Hmaidan will oversee Cairo and Beirut operations, and manage client relations.
Speaking about his appointment in a press statement, Hmaidan said, “I am excited to be in my new role and look forward to continuing the momentum, working with the outstanding talent in both offices and with our brilliant group of clients.”
“We have amazing talent in the region and it is the responsibility of the organization to look at our key talent and give them the right opportunity to grow. Wassim’s achievements in Cairo are remarkable and he has made us all proud with the way he turned around Cairo operations. I have absolutely no doubt in Wassim’s abilities to manage and take MEC Beirut to the next level,” said Mohan Nambiar, CEO of MEC MENA, in a statement to the press.
