Regional digital football app Dawri Plus (available on Android and on the App store) has been shortlisted for the 2014 edition of the MEFFYS, an international show rewarding work across 16 mobile content and commerce categories. Developed by Dubai-based digital agency and incubator Intigral in Dubai, the interactive sports app for the Saudi Football League was nominated by an independent panel of 40 journalists, academics, analysts and VCs (venture capitalists) from around the globe under the Innovation in a Growth Market category.
Dawri Plus was developed to for football and sports enthusiasts fans in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, enabling them to watch SPL games in real time across devices. It offers analytical stats overlays (including advanced player stats via heat mapping), full DVR capabilities, in-app fantasy football league and goal predictor, editorial and user generated content and deep linking with social media.
During last season, 150,000 concurrent users logged on simultaneously to watch the live game between Al Nassr and Al Hilal clubs. Since its launch, the app has crossed the million download mark across platforms, with an average monthly active user base of 550,000 on mobile. This is in addition to an average of 400,000 monthly unique users on the web platform, which is continually ranked in the top three for visited sports websites in Saudi Arabia.
