Nescafé launches Ignite DXB 2015

Nescafé Ignite DXB 2015, a youth-oriented music platform, launched the first edition on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Institute of Management Technology, Dubai International Academic City.

The initiative manifested as a battle of the bands, where six bands, representing six different universities and battled for first, second and third place. When The Night Comes, from SAE, won first place and took home AED 15,000 scholarships for each band member with the True School of Music as well the opportunity to record a mini-album with Dubai-based recording facility Oneness Media Mill.

Sponsored by Nescafé, the initiative is designed to promote bands and individual musical talent in the region. In addition to the title sponsors it is also being supported by Sony Music, the True School of Music, Oneness Media Mill, The Fridge, TwoTone (international rapper) and Nikotin (Dubai-based rock band).

While the face of the platform is a battle of the bands, the true objective is to encourage cultural interests and professional careers in the music and performing arts industries for some of the UAE’s most talented youth.
