Global analytics data platform, marketing applications and services provider Teradata Corporation kicked off the “Teradata Universe Conference in Dubai” yesterday. Now in its 4th year, the conference is held from 10 to 12 February and highlights how the global surge in data volumes is changing every major industry and every aspect of consumers’ daily lives, creating the need for analytic solutions for enterprises. The three-day conference also features an Expo Area, where attendees will meet and interact with 20 Teradata business and technology partners showcasing the latest innovations and services to help enterprises achieve their objectives from big data analytics to enhance business efficiency, create new routes to market and sustain a competitive edge.
A recent study by IDC (International Data Corporation) published in October 2013 found that big data and analytics is drawing investment in the Middle East region. Most of this investment has been focused on business intelligence (BI), with 35 percent of Middle Eastern CIOs (chief information officers) having invested in BI in 2013, and 41 percent scoping for 2013. On the analytics front, only 11 percent had invested in 2012; but demand is growing with 42 percent planning or scoping in 2013. IDC analysts also added that as big data increasingly becomes part of corporate IT strategies and infrastructure, organizations will be on the lookout for specialist analytics skills to unlock data’s inherent business value. Set against this backdrop of rapidly accelerating interest in unlocking the business value of big data, the 4th annual Teradata Universe Conference in Dubai will showcase latest data management and analytics solutions available.
Held annually across key markets in Europe, Middle East and South Asia, Teradata Universe brings together business and technical professionals to share insights and best practices to help create true data-driven strategies using a Unified Data Architecture. Over the course of the two-day conference, senior representatives from Teradata will come together with the company’s customers, partners and prospects to exchange ideas, highlight challenges and showcase the latest innovations from Teradata available for any industry including telcos, banking, Oil & Gas and others.
Focusing on the changing business dynamics across the rapidly evolving Middle East market, the event features presentations from Teradata experts, customers and partners on trending topics including driving value from big data, the role of big data science within the financial services industry, and increasing profitability with data analytic technology.
