On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, Mashreq Bank has chosen a new PR partner to build closer relationships with regional media while solidifying “its position as the region’s most progressive and innovative community-focused bank,” according to a statement from the company.
The appointment will see Middle East Communication Network’s (MCN) Weber Shandwick handle PR for the regional bank, whose presence includes Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
The account was previously handled by H+K Strategies.
The agency won Middle East Consultancy of the Year at the SABRE Awards earlier this year.
Commenting on the decision, Sridhar Iyer, head of marketing and Mashreq Neo at Mashreq Bank, says, “We are excited to be working with an agency partner who shares our vision and passion and brings us closer to our customers by communicating more effectively. As we enter our 51st year, we believe it is the perfect time to engage more closely with all our stakeholders, customers and the community.”
Weber Shandwick’s, managing director, Andreas Keller, adds: “The Mashreq brand has more than 50 years’ heritage of ‘making possible’ and we are looking forward to helping bring that promise to life. Both companies share core values of thinking out of the box and evolving to meet changing needs, which we hope to translate into unique and engaging campaigns that speak to Mashreq’s diverse audiences.”
